Take my word for it

Most founders won't make it through the AI decade.

I am going to say something this week that I have been thinking about for a while, and I think it will land harder than it should.

Most founders are not going to make it through this decade.

Not because the AI killed them.

Because they had no architecture.

I have been coaching founders through ExCap for years now, and the pattern keeps repeating. The loudest voices on the internet are not the same people winning their own lives. The companies announcing AI integrations are not necessarily the companies still standing in 2030.

❝

What is going to decide the next ten years is not the AI stack. It is three boring walls — identity, system, sourcing — that almost nobody talks about because they do not get likes.

-Deon | NYM Studios

That is the through-line of this week. Wisdom on Tuesday named the same gap from Solomon's pen — three thousand years ago, same diagnosis. Friday's Off the Cuff segment will hit the practical questions you are already asking inside this anxiety.

Read it slow.

Highlights

Wisdom Live. Key highlights from our Wisdom series.

We spent thirty minutes on the gap most founders pretend isn't there.

You're not lacking motivation. You're lacking architecture.

Solomon doesn't tell the sluggard to find his "why." He sends him to look at the ant — a creature with no commander, no overseer, no daily stand-up — and watch how she stores in summer anyway. Internal structure where everyone else has supervisors.

❝

Motivation will lie to you on Monday. Discipline will tell you the truth on Friday.

off the cuff

Real questions deserves real answers- Practical Answers.

  1. This week's Off the Cuff went heavy on the questions founders rarely ask in public — but ask me constantly in private. A few previews from the twelve:

    1. I have so many ideas but I can't finish anything. How do I actually ship?
I lower prices when prospects push back. How do I stop doing that?
What does "rest" actually look like for a founder? Sabbath feels impossible right now.

  2. The answers are not what you usually hear from founder content. There's no productivity hack on the first one, no negotiation script on the second, no "just take Sunday off" on the third. The actual answers are about completion vs starting, conviction vs price, and architecture vs willpower.

  3. Download the full twelve below. Twelve questions. Twelve answers. About twenty minutes total.

Weekly Recommendation

Got an AI tool you'd recommend? Hit reply on this email — I read every one.

The one tool I've been quietly testing this month.

❝

I stopped fearing back-to-back meeting days because I knew nothing would slip through the cracks. That alone paid for the subscription.
— Founder I work with, who asked not to be named because his investors would tease him about it.

If you're a founder who runs more meetings than is healthy — and most of us are — Granola is the AI meeting notetaker that has been doing for me what every other tool promised and didn't deliver.

It listens in the background. It writes coherent, structured notes that actually sound like the meeting (not a transcript dump). It surfaces action items without me hunting. And it stays out of the room — no bot joining the call, no awkward third presence on Zoom.

For founders trying to build system over momentum this year — which is the whole spine of this week's content — Granola is one of the few AI tools I've kept on after the novelty wore off.
